Once Upon a Time,

there lived an artist named Heather Berthelette, who believed in the transformative world of fairy tales and make-believe. Deep in the woods on a small farm in southeastern Massachusetts, her vivid imagination took her on many, grand adventures. One day, her wish to travel came true and she journeyed overseas to faraway lands. To further her knowledge of the arts and expand upon her innate talent, Heather attained a Bachelors in Fine Arts from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and a Masters in Arts Administration from Northeastern University in Boston.

Heather’s bright colour palette and observational drawing techniques are a clear inspiration from the life and art of Walter E. Disney, the paintings of Eyvind Earle, and the whimsical mind of author, Lewis Carroll. The playful sense of child-like wonder in her work is reminiscent of the picture book illustration from her youth and the fantasies of her many travels. Through an evoked lens of innocence, Heather’s paintings reconnect to fairy tales and memory, encouraging viewers to remember their own magic within.

If you can dream it, you can do it.
